Andromeda's Curse Review 2: Orrery, Disconnected

This is a part 2 to my Andromeda's Curse review. You can read the first part here, where I review Alice Moving Under Skies and Forest Maiden. Keep in mind everyone has different skin chemistry so these, as with all perfume oils, may smell different on you!

Orrery

Notes: Pink Pepper, Plum, Fall Leaves, Dirt, Patchouli, Moss, Sandalwood, Musk

My first impression of Orrery was "fruity"! I thought it might be a dark berry or cherry note, but it is in fact a plum note. It's very deep and syrupy, but also sweet. As it dries down, it becomes a deeper, more mature kind of syrupy plum. Eventually it lightens up a little and becomes a bit more sweet and airy type of fruity although still a bit syrupy.
Overall, this is a fruity plum scent deepened by the pepper/musk/sandalwood notes. If you like deep, syrupy scents you might enjoy this one. Personally, I do sometimes enjoy syrupy -even medicine-like notes. I will probably be using up the sample, but I won't be full-sizing since it's not exactly the vibe I'm going for. I would enjoy this on someone else though. I'll have to give this a 7/10.

Notes: Peach Blossom, Vanilla Bean, Silky Sandalwood, Fuzzy Peach Skin, Caramel, Agarwood, and a Smidge of Misanthropy

Upon application I actually thought it smelled like some kind of jelly filled dessert cake. Specifically I thought it smelled like some type of Gansito, but filled with peach jelly. This changes pretty quickly on my skin and softens up quite a bit. I would describe the dry down as what I imagine homemade peach rings smell like. Peach rings for sure, but not cloyingly sweet. This scent isn't too complex and once it gets to the "peach rings stage", it doesn't really change on my skin. If you like simple, soft, and sweet gourmands, you will most likely enjoy this one. The throw was weaker on my skin than most other scents from Andromeda's Curse, but I don't think that's a bad thing since it keeps it from being overbearingly sweet. I didn't catch the "Smidge of Misanthropy" note. I expected to find a harsh or dark note in the background, but I did not. Maybe I just don't know what misanthropy smells like. Or maybe misanthropy is actually pretty... sweet?
Overall I really enjoyed this one. I would definitely buy it as a gift for a friend who likes smelling like candy. I probably will not be getting the full-size for myself, but I will continue using the sample. I would full-size for sure if I didn't already have such a growing collection of fragrances. I'll give this a 9/10 because it is super yummy, but also a very simple scent.
